The basic artillery gun is included in serveral different kits.

Click here to build it once you have finished the stand (or before - who are we to judge?)

Plastic tube parts (make sure you have all of these)

  • 1 x 30mm long 12mm diameter tube (part of the barrels)
  • 3 x ~10mm long 11.1mm diameter tube (part of the barrels)
  • 1 x 80mm long 9.5mm diameter tube (part of the barrels)
  • 2 x 34mm long 4.8mm diameter tube (the recuperators)
  • 1 x 35mm long 2.4mm diameter tube (the crossbar for the gun)
  • 1 x 35mm long 2.4mm diameter tube (the crossbar for the stand)

The components for the kit are cut by a laser into the card and/or MDF. To keep the parts on the card there are some small tabs that you will need to cut.

When you want to remove a piece from the card, cut through the remaining lines to release the part.

Always pre-fold any parts with folds. If the fold is not crisp and clean, gently score the fold with a sharp knife.

I mostly use white wood glue and occassionally a bit of superglue for construction: the superglue is used for small parts as it bonds fairly quickly (within 3 seconds) and the white glue for larger parts but feel free to use whatever glue you are comfortable with.

The battlefield is a dangerous place: it is recommended at each step to put a thick strip of white glue along the inside of all joins to make your model as strong as possible

The stand

Remove the base parts (ORANGE) from the frame and glue them together as shown

Cut out the middle bits (GREEN) and glue them together as shown (you will use this just now)

Remove the parts for the stand feet (ORANGE) and glue them to the stand as shown

Glue the little decorative elements (GREEN) to the slots as shown

OPTIONAL: to make the gun sit flat on the table, cut a bit off the frame and glue it to the bottom of the stand (bottom right picture)

Remove the parts for the base and glue them together (ORANGE)

Glue the circular part from step 1 to the bottom as shown

Remove the parts of the supports from the frame and glue them together

Use one of the 35mm long tubes to make sure the holes align (but do not glue it yet)

Once they are dry enough to work with, slot the vertical stands into the base and glue the spacer to the front as shown

Remove the detailing pieces from the frame and glue them to the stand as shown

Glue the two small cog pieces together and then slide them onto the plastic tube.

Make sure these are in the centre of the tube and then glue them in place.

Once you have glued on the big cogs to the outside of the frame, trim the white tube so that there is none sticking out the sides

Finally, glue on the adjustment wheels as shown

[BETTER IMAGE TO COME] Then, glue on the gun shield and decorate it with the scrolls

CONGRATULATIONS! You are done.
