The components for the kit are cut by a laser into the card. To keep the parts on the card some of the cuts are incomplete.

When you want to remove a piece from the card, look for the incomplete lines. You will only need to cut these lines to release the part.

I use superglue for construction for the smaller parts as it bonds fairly quickly (within 3 seconds). For the larger parts, normal white wood glue works perfectly (especially for gluing the outer layer to the inner)

  2. Bottom level
  3. Top level roof
  4. Top level
Part 1 - bottom level roof

The roof is made of an inner core shape onto which is glued a lot of detail

PLEASE DO NOT STRESS ABOUT THE INNER CORE.

It does not have to be neat and perfect as it will be almost totally covered by other pieces.

Start by finding the two inner core pieces

The card is pre-scored but it is worth making the scores a little deeper on the thin pieces round the edge so that they fold neatly.

Just be careful that you do not cut through

Fold the corners together

Hold them pinched between thumb and forefinger and add a drop of superglue to the corner and join

Repeat this for the other 4 corners

Align the bottom piece with the top piece and glue it in place.

I did this in stages... glue the bottom, then the top, then the sides

Remove the two remaining pieces of the roof from the frame and glue them in place

If there are any parts of the bottom that are sticking out, simply trim them with a knife.

Now for the detailing.

Remove the roof tiles from the frame

I used white glue to glue them to the inner roof.

Now for the detailing.

Remove the roof tiles from the frame

I used white glue to glue them to the inner roof.

Remove the small pieces shown and glue them to the small roof faces

The railings for the roof are made of two parts... a solid backing part and a detail part that has a lot of rectangles cut out of it

Assemble them as shown

Once this is done, glue them in place as shown

Part 2 - bottom level

The bottom floor has three doors... a front door and two side doors

The side doors are slightly smaller than the front door

There are two ways to assemble the doors... they can either be on the OUTSIDE (left hand picture) or on the INSIDE (right hand picture)

If you want to assemble them on the INSIDE then you will need to do a little extra work

Please read through to the end of this section so that you can make up your mind now.

Find the floor and the 4 walls of the bottom floor

If you want to have your doors INSIDE then cut out the door shapes

Glue the front piece to the floor

Then glue the sides on. The side pieces should fold BEHIND the front piece (see the insert)

Finally, glue on the back

Remove all the detail pieces for the bottom floor

Glue them on to their relevant sides

Find the pieces for the doors and assemble them as shown

If you want your doors on the outside, just glue them in place

If you want them on the inside, then just glue them in place as shown

If you want them to open and close and don't mind a bit of extra work, read on (OPTIONAL STEP)

OPTIONAL STEP

You can use the bits of card from the frames for this

Cut 3 strips that are about 80mm x 3mm

Cut 1 strip that is 80mm x 5mm

Glue 2 of the thinner strips to the 5mm strip

Glue this above the door as shown and glue the other strip below the door as shown (there is a guide line on the floor for you)

Once this is dry you can slide the door in and it should open and shut

OPTIONAL STEP

If you want to get extra fancy, you can cut the front door in half so that it opens to either side of the doorway as shown

Part 3 - top level roof

After the bottom level, this is easy peasy.

The top roof is on the left, the top level is on the right

Score, fold and glue the roof

Glue the tiles to the roof

Assemble the trap door - this does not have to be glued down

Assemble the railings and glue them to the roof

Part 4 - top level

Fold and glue the top level as shown

Find he detail pieces

Glue on the detail pieces

CONGRATULATIONS! You are done.
